Three Evening Concerts of Raga Darbari in the contemporary Kirana gharana (style) of North Indian Classical Music will be performed by La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela with The Just Alap Raga Ensemble in a memorial tribute in honor of Pandit Pran Nath's 93rd birthday, Saturday Evenings, October 29, November 5 and 12, 2011, at 9 pm in the MELA Foundation Dream House light environment, 275 Church Street, 3rd Floor. PLEASE NOTE: To prepare for the scheduled concerts the Dream House will be closed from October 20 - November 12; we will reopen Thursday, November 17.

House, a collaborative Sound and Light
Environment by composer La Monte
Young and visual artist Marian Zazeela, is presented in
an extended exhibition at MELA Foundation, 275 Church
Street, 3rd Floor. The environment
is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 PM to
Midnight. Suggested contribution is
$5.00. The long term exhibition
opened in Fall 1993 and will continue for this season
through May 28, 2011, reopening again in September 2011.

MELA Foundation presents a Studio View of Jung Hee Choi's recent works, Ahata Anahata, Manifest Unmanifest II, Thursday through Saturday, August 21st - September 11th, 2010, 6pm - Midnight, in the MELA Dream House, 275 Church Street, 3rd Floor, New York. Ahata Anahata, Manifest Unmanifest II features three multimedia installations, a series of drawings, videos and a sound environment including her new installation work Composition 2009 #1 created with needlepoint drawings on black wrap with video. Viewers experience the drawings as indiscernibly moving light from video projection glowing through the pinholes creating an abstract and analagous representation of Manifest Unmanifest.
